PSG Edges Olympique de Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Secure French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now secured the prestigious cup on fourteen different occasions.

The Parisian giants needed a dramatic equaliser followed by a successful penalty shootout to get past their arch-rivals in the Gulf and secure a fourth straight Trophee des Champions title.

The Champions League holders seemed to be sailing towards a comfortable win in the match between the French league winners and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring in the opening stages.

Yet, Marseille fired twice late to take a surprise lead. First, the English forward converted from the penalty spot, before Willian Pacho inadvertently directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable twist of fortune, the Portuguese striker grabbed a crucial leveler in the final seconds to send the match into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then stood as the key figure, saving decisive kicks from Matt O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Goncalo Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all scored successfully for PSG to seal a convincing penalty victory.

Now 14-time winners Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Olympique de Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now won this competition for the twelfth time in the last 13 seasons.
