Bullish Wilfried Nancy insists he is not worried about being fired yet Celtic fans display anger following loss.

The under-pressure manager stated he was not afraid of losing his job, claiming, “I believe we are really close to changing our fortunes,” despite moving dangerously close to the chopping block with a comprehensive setback against the Ibrox side.

A Second-Half Capitulation Leads to Old Firm Defeat

The home side had led the visitors at the interval but a second-half capitulation allowed Danny Röhl’s team to draw level on points with the reigning Scottish Premiership champions. The former MLS manager, who was brought in in December, has now overseen six setbacks in eight fixtures.

“There is unity with the board,” insisted Nancy.

Pressed on the speculation, Nancy responded: “That’s not my focus. I concentrate on finding ways to aid my players to improve on the fine details.

Supporters' Anger On Display

The fans made their feelings clear – towards the hierarchy – in their hundreds at full time. The board would be most likely to return to the former boss, who steered the club during a temporary stint last year, should a change be made.

“The outcomes [that leads to pressure]. So this is the reality for the moment. Yet in stating this is the reality, that is not a sign that I am giving up. Not at all. My point is the turnaround is near, extremely close to reverse our form.”

Nancy’s Persistent Belief

He remains focused on the fact the side play well for one half at a time. For instance, but for poor finishing they would have been more than 1-0 up. “There were positives aside from the fact that we haven’t scored our chances,” he said. “I know that we lost, but I must remain balanced.

“The performance we had at certain moments was of top quality. That happened. I could not speak so positively if it was not the case. But that’s why, regarding outcomes, I said we've seen this before. For that reason I said that a change is coming to a shift in fortunes. Right now: small things.”

“We produced plenty of positives that we did, as was the case today. However comes down to performing for 90 minutes. My outlook would change if it was not the case. This is why I am a big believer we will manage to turn things around.”

The Rangers Boss Stance

Rangers manager was cautious about a title charge despite what felt like a huge result. “Step by step, then we can really build up momentum,” he said. “The faith in the squad is outstanding.”
